Huck Finn 10 Essay Huck FinnSince the beginning of time people have been living on their own. They have been relying on themselves to survive for centuries. In many books the characters also must rely on themselves, as Huck Finn does in Mark Twains book The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Huck Finn is a book about a boy growing up , and his flight down the Mississippi River. Through his actions and thoughts Huck is able to survive the dangers of the river and in doing so develops self reliance and independence as well as non-conformity to what is acceptable to society. Huck Finn is definitely a non-conformist in the truest sense of the word. Non-conformity means to go against what all other people think and do. In the book Huck chooses not to go to school,. and therefore it makes him a non-conformist because everyone else goes to school. Another example of non-conformity that Huck shows is running away with Jim. No one ever would think about running away with a black man. It is absurd ,because it is going against the rest of society and what they believed about slavery. Hucks actions definitely makes him a non-conformist. A third example of non-conformity in Huck is not wanting to be civilized. Huck says,Aunt Sally shes going to adopt me and sivilize me, and I cant stand it. I been there before. (294) This quote shows that Huck doesnt like to be civilized like the rest of society making him an outcast and non-conformist. Huck Finn is a very self-reliant person and he shows it in his thoughts and actions throughout the book. Self reliance is to use your mind on your own to be able to do things. Just as Emerson said, A weed is a plant with wise virtues which have not yet been discovered. Huck throughout the book is a boy searching for himself. Huck is self reliant because he does not know what he wants but through testing situations he discovers what he likes. Huck tries school but realizes it isnt for him. He is self reliant because he is able to make choices on his own without any help.. Another example of self reliance in Huck is his ability to use what ever means he can, to get out of tight situations. Throughout the book Huck uses elaborate tales and lies to help him get through life. When Huck goes to town dressed as a girl he is noticed as being a boy. Huck then says I told her my father and mother was dead, and the law had bound me out to a mean old farmer in the country thirty mile back from the river, and he treated me so bad I couldnt stand it so I stole his daughters clothes and ran off. (60) This was all one big li e that Huck made up but it sure did entice the lady and Huck didnt get caught. On the raft with Jim, Huck s self reliance saves them again with the story about his father and small pox. Another way in which Huck is self reliant is his humoristic way of thinking. He is abused by his Pap but he doesnt let it get him down. He stops fearing his Pap and just lives with it. This makes him very self-reliant and a very strong willed person. Huckleberry Finn is a very independent boy and it can be seen throughout the book in his thoughts and actions Independence is being able to survive on you own. This entire book is about Hucks independence and surviving and living on his own. Huck shows his independence when he is able to catch fish and gather food so Jim and he can eat. There not righting an English essay or right a sonnet, so why? .Most metaphorical references used are comple tely idiotic and not even relevant to the subject matter their actually singing about. so when I first heard red was just one big metaphor it wanted to smash my head against the desktop/wall where ever I was at that moment because literally every single line was a metaphor/simile. His love is like trying to find solve a crossword puzzle when there’s no right answer what!? Seriously what has your love of word-related games got to do with your relationship and who writes a crossword puzzle without a definitive correct answer argh blasphemy! . Just listening to it is a delight to my ears. it transports me to the bustling streets of the vivid and restless New York (don’t know why just does) it has influences of rock bond u2, with the electric guitar undertones and angelic backing vocals which make it magic and lines like just twin fire signs, four blue eyes make it all round perfection.*side note*acoustic version of state of grace is quiet enchanting . Lucky one- Im a lucky one to hear this musical excellence, it has the same inde/rock vibe to this track as well making it refreshing to hear, something else that is refreshing to hear is that it not about a failed romance -thank the lord- I really appreciate the message in this one than any of the others in this album. it’s about fear of not being satisfied with the things you already have achieved in so far it ruins the joy of living and turn simple, wonderful things into hard work because it a game of stayin g relevant enough to be important afraid of being replaced with younger, better version of ourselves. .So casually cruel in the name of being honest- A concept I can relate to two points for Taylor .Treacherous- I can’t fault the melody its seductive but pure, its slow but not drown your sorrows depressing the use of a single, acoustic guitar to build up to a full entourage of drum beats is fantastic. .Everything has changed- ED SHEEREN!! Yes the wonderful and talented fiery-haired Londoner Ed Sheeren co-wrote with Taylor on this track to produce legitimate candy for your ears. The drums build up the choruses paired fluently with the breaks of the guitar solos in-between accompanied only Ed’s and Taylor’s super-sweet vocals creating a heavenly, musical power duo in the making. .The last time- Gary Lightbody and Taylor swifts duet is the definition of complimentary. Lightbody is a fantastic choice for a duet partner as it enhances Taylor’s vocals and bri ngs a more soulful and mature side to her tone. â€Å"The last time â€Å"paints an almost palpable picture of a young man and woman insanely in love with each other only separated by the door that prevents them from their own destruction, told through the harrowing backing of the piano.
